Referee

Tri City United Soccer Club, in conjunction with the Minnesota State Referee Committee, will be hosting an entry level referee clinic on:

Saturday March 7
9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Montgomery City Hall, Council Chambers
201 Ash Avenue SW

To qualify to be a referee in Minnesota and officiate games for clubs, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be 13 years of age or older;
  2. Sign up on the Minnesota State Referee Committee website – www.minnesotasrc.org;
  3. Pay your fees and do the on-line training modules;
    1. If you are 18 or older, you must also have a background completed
  4. Take the concussion training;
  5. Take the Safe Sport training;
  6. Register for the Montgomery Clinic.

The clinic is free of charge and open to anyone who has paid the fees and completed the on-line portion of the program. This must be completed at least one week before the clinic.

Once you become certified to officiate, you can officiate for any club. Most first year officials will work in the capacity of assistant referee to gain confidence and experience. First year officials may also receive mentoring and support.

Referee pay ranges from $35.00 to $70.00 per match and is a nice way to earn a little money over the summer.
